This campaign was started with Steven Brust’s excellent novels in mind.
As RPG sessions tend to go wherever you didn’t expect them to go (If the DM ain’t crying, the wizard ain’t trying), the safely pre-written storyline was quickly abandoned and we made it our own thing.

Currently only some character names, places and a little mechanics are still in place.
All the houses were extremely loosely mapped to races as to not make the mechanics even more complex then they already are. The cycle is there, but thus far hasn’t had any influence yet.
All in all we try to make the rules not get in the way of fun.
